Frachos

A meal you need to incorporate into your Friday night plans - Frachos! Nachos, but on fries. This is great for when you’re craving greasy pub food but need something a little more substantial than nachos. I only ever make frozen fries in my air fryer, because they literally make them taste deep fried, but since these fries end up getting smothered in cheese and fresh veggies, they would taste great no matter how you cook them.

Serves 2 as a meal, 4 as an appetizer

Ingredients:

700 grams frozen French fries

2 tbs canola oil, divided

150 grams ground beef

1 1/2 tbs taco seasoning

Salt and pepper

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

2 tbs onion, chopped

2 tomatoes or 1 cup cherry tomatoes, diced

1 avocado, diced

1/2 a bell pepper, diced

1 jalapeño, sliced

1/4 cup cilantro

1/2 cup sour cream to serve

1/2 cup salsa to serve

1 lime, cut into wedges Directions:

1. Toss the frozen French fries in 1 tbs of canola oil to coat. Bake or air fry according to package instructions. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Spread the fries out in a single layer on a parchment lined baking sheet. Set aside.

2. Heat 1 tbs canola oil in a medium sized frying pan and add the ground beef, taco seasoning, and a big pinch of salt and pepper. Cook over medium low heat, breaking up with your spoon often, for 15 minutes until browned and crisp.

3. Scatter the cooked ground beef on top of the French fries. Sprinkle with onions and cheese and bake for 12 minutes until the cheese is bubbly. Scatter the remaining toppings on top. You can dollop the sour cream and salsa directly on top, or serve on the side. Serve immediately with lime wedges.
